All right, at risk of sounding like a huge a**hole, the caption above is incorrect. This picture is from when Jordan won his fourth NBA championship, against the Seattle Supersonics. It was the first he won after his father’s death. Jordan’s father was killed in July of 1993, after Jordan had won his third ring; MJ retired for the first time a few months later in October in order to pursue baseball, which was one of his father’s lifelong dreams for him. This picture can’t be from the day of his father’s death, because Jordan is wearing XI’s (which came out in the 1996-1997 season), when he should have been wearing VIII’s.
